Indeed. Judging from all the promo material they've released for it, it looks like a great way to end the main story with all the new worlds and locations we'll be visiting, such as Mount Olympus, the world of Toy Story, and Rapunzel.
Big Hero 6 is the one I am looking forward to most of all.
Tangled/Corona and Toy Story will also be of interest.
But I hope they have more then that, additional worlds would be welcome.
I am wondering how the Toy Story world will work, since Sora is a actual person, but in the preview image I am looking at, he's smaller then Woody.
I hope they plan to continue the series after finishing this saga.
Final Fantasy has many iterations, so I don't see why KH can't establish a similar legacy.
Ever since Disney Infinity was cancelled, this is the probably the only game we can have that counts as a Disney crossover game.
I wonder, if DI hadn't been cancelled, would they have eventually introduced Sora and Riku figures for that game?
Maybe, but I am interested in what other worlds will be showing up in Kingdom Hearts 3 as it is.
If the series continues, I do hope they consider adding Enchancia and Avalor into the next installment. It would be nice if Sora could meet Sofia and Elena, especially considering that the Heartless would easily single out Shuriki as another person to command them due to her wicked heart with wanting to take down Elena and retake Avalor for her own.
Given that Corona and Arendelle (Frozen) exist in the same world, I don't see why they couldn't include both at the same location. Well, after a long sailing trip that is, the implication is that they aren't physically close to each other.
If KHIII depicts Frozen as a completely seperate world to Tangled, I'd classify that as a critical research failure.
I'm not sure how many worlds are present on average in KH games, but I assume there is a finite limit per game.
Usually by the time we get to the final boss battle, that's an indication there won't be any other worlds to explore.
Now that you mention it, it appears that KH has never based any of their worlds on Disney animated shows, so I am uncertain if they have ever considered implementing content based on this premise.
This would also have to be another shared world, as Enchancia and Avalor are confirmed to co-exist.
Also, given the background supplied in Sofia the First, there are several other countries as well, given that each Princess or Prince in the show comes from another country that isn't Enchancia.
For example, Hildegard is from Freezenberg and Clio is from Corinthia.
You've identified the Avalor villainess, but I wonder who would play that role for Enchancia in leading the Heartless? Prisma is the most likely candidate, as she's the most recent villainess. Morgana and Grimtrix could be other possibilities.
Yeah, those villains sound good since Cedric reformed and so have Princess Ivy and Miss Nettle, so those bad guys are the best option if Master Xehanort can get them on board to help him as he prepares for the final conflict with the Keyblade wielders.
I just got to chapter 715 of Kingdom Hearts Union Cross.
At the moment, that appears to be the final mission, until the next content update is deployed, at which time, additional missions will be added.
My primary disappointment with this game is that none of my favorite Disney Franchises have gotten worlds yet.
Dwarf Woodlands (Snow White)
Castle of Dreams (Cinderella)
Enchanted Dominion (Sleeping Beauty)
I was hoping to visit Atlantica and Ancient China at least.
And like the console game, no Disney shows have been referenced yet.
Of the latest Disney movies released, only Moana has been acknowledged (via a Moana medal).
I haven't seen any Frozen, Tangled or Big Hero 6 medals yet.
Kingdom Hearts Union Cross has already been released and is available to play right now.
The link I gave was for the Australian iTunes store page to download the game (it's free2play/download).
It's also available in other countries, I just don't have the download links for those, although I have seen the US one.
All the information above came from my personal experience playing the game.
Here is a composite image showing the world progression and chapter 715:
The medal I referred to is how the game is played, you have a Keychain attached to your character's Keyblade which can slot up to 5 medals (depending on how much it has been upgraded).
Each medal has a unique special attack and a standard attack.
This game is turn based combat, you use each of your 5 medals and then another one carried by your pet animal, then it's the enemy turn.
So far, there are vastly more medals then worlds, as I have seen many medals from worlds not present in the game.
Including Ariel and Mulan medals.
I'm hoping as time goes on, there eventually might be some Enchancia or Avalor content in KHUx.
But I'm uncertain if this will happen, considering the KH franchise only takes source materials from Disney movies and not shows.
I know it's easier to incorporate the material in KHUx, because you don't need to hire voice cast to reprise their role, the cutscenes are all speech bubble animated cartoon style.
