I watched the promo song.

Sofia did not interact with any characters from the other show, so there is no evidence of a shared universe from that video.

The video is basically just a lot of clips from both shows set to a song.

If there was a Protector in Neverland, she would be one of the mermaids.

There was a line that states all mythical creatures are descendants of the ones who came from the Mystic Isles.

Probably the movie version of Neverland applies.

There is nothing left of Vor to revive, Sofia made very sure of that.

Be careful about writing concepts like that.

There have been serious incidents in the past where users kept spamming crossover concepts to the point where it was classified as vandalism.

As a general rule, Disney would not make a crossover show as a consistent series.

Probably, but they'll have to find ways to integrate them into the school theme, so fairies would be easiest. Basically, humanoid species.

Mermaids tend not to appear much in the source show or Avalor, since they naturally need water to move around in.

But they might have a mermaid swimming coach. After all, who can teach swimming better then a mermaid?

That would depend on what is considered a spinoff.

From my perspective, Elena of Avalor is an independent show set in the same universe as Sofia the First, not a genuine spinoff.

So to me, that makes this upcoming show the first spinoff.

Royal Prep Spinoff in Development

Emmy Award winner Craig Gerber, the creative force behind Disney’s acclaimed series “Sofia the First,” “Elena of Avalor” has extended his overall development deal with Disney Branded Television. Gerber also wrote the television movie that launched Disney’s first little girl princess, “Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess,” which debuted 10 years ago (Nov. 18, 2012) and remains TV’s #1 cable telecast of all time among Girls 2-5.

Under the extended agreement, Gerber is developing a “Sofia the First” spinoff series set in Royal Prep Academy, a school for princesses and princes in the fictional kingdom of Enchancia. This is his second series in development for Disney Branded Television through his production banner, Electric Emu.

Some examples would be useful in determining if this is a category that can be applied.

What Sofia the First computer games exist?

Ideally, there should be more then one to justify the creation of a category.

I only know of two actively maintained official Disney games at this time, Dreamlight Valley and Heroes Battle Mode.

Dreamlight Valley is a relatively new game and they've not yet clarified if they intend to add television based characters.

Heroes Battle Mode rarely adds television characters, as the game is a promotional tool for Disney movies,

I would suggest do not believe them, as there is no evidence supporting the assertions.

As an official policy, due to the conflicts that occurs because shipping wars can be very intense, any activity relating to representing them as a couple was prohibited.

Also, while not related to this show, Craig Gerber posted an official advisory that he doesn’t endorse shipping, everyone is “just friends” because “they’re kids”.
